Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Training and Research Hospital Chemotherapy Center has been established in Muğla State Hospital before 2011, as a center where 2 chemotherapy nurses have been working under the supervision of internal medicine specialists and it has been established to assist in the application of chemotherapies for patients planned for a treatment scheme in a total of 4 seats.
July 2011, Mugla State Hospital for the first time mandatory government service assigned with the task of Medical Oncology Expert Dr. Özgür TANRIVERDİ, planning and application of outpatient and inpatient chemotherapy, the number of patients increased day by day and continued to serve to Muğla and districts.
The Chemotherapy Center is currently operating in 20 seats at the new service building of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Training and Research Hospital with the name of Gündüz Chemotherapy Unit as an outpatient chemotherapy application. It is a center where not only medical oncology patients but also outpatient treatment of hematology and rheumatology patients. It also served as an inpatient with 13 beds in the Oncology Service.
As a branch of the Department of Internal Medicine as of 2018, The Department of Medical Oncology, which serves under the chairmanship of Özgür TANRIVERDİ, fulfills its services in accordance with the conditions of education and health services. It is included in the same unit in the Oncology Clinical Research Center, which is approved by the Chief Physician Office for international clinical research and national / institutional scientific research.
In the Chemotherapy Center, semi-automatic drug preparation unit is conducted in accordance with the international and national chemotherapy preparation and application principles. The treatment approvals of the patients receiving chemotherapy are carried out as a separate service from the Medical Oncology Outpatient Clinic.
